Admission Protocol

Initial Contact and Assesment
- Contact: The individual or a referral source (e.g., a treatment center, counselor, or family member) contacts the sober living facility.
- Pre-Screening Assessment: The facility conducts a preliminary assessment, usually over the phone, to determine if the individual is a good fit for the program. This may include questions about their substance use history, treatment history, current sobriety status, and mental health.

In-Person or Virtual Interview
- Detailed Assessment: If the pre-screening is successful, a more in-depth interview is scheduled. This can be conducted in person or virtually. During this interview, the facility will gather more information about the individual’s background, goals, and readiness for sober living.
- Tour: If the interview is in person, a tour of the facility may be offered to help the individual become familiar with the living environment.

Review of Facility and Expectations
- Rules and Guidelines: The individual will be provided with a detailed overview of the facility’s rules, expectations, and daily routines. This includes curfews, house chores, meeting attendance, and any other requirements.
- Financial Obligations: Information about the cost of residency, payment plans, and any financial assistance available will be discussed.

Documentation and Agreements
- Signing Documents: The individual will be required to sign various documents, including:
- Residency agreement or contract.
- Consent forms for drug and alcohol testing.
- Confidentiality agreements.
- Any other relevant legal or program-specific documents.
- Medical Records: The facility may request recent medical records or a letter from a healthcare provider confirming the individual’s physical and mental health status.

Initial Sobriety Requirement
- Sobriety Verification: Grace and Gratitude Sober Living requires a minimum period of 48 hours of sobriety prior to admission. This is to be verified through a drug and alcohol test.
- Detox: If the individual is not yet sober, they may be required to complete a detox program before being admitted.

Move-In Day
- Orientation: On the day of admission, the individual will go through an orientation process to familiarize themselves with the facility, meet other residents, and understand their daily schedule.
- Room Assignment: The individual will be assigned a room or bed and given an overview of their living space.
- Personal Belongings Check: The facility may inspect personal belongings to ensure no prohibited items are brought in.

Integration and Ongoing Support
- Meeting with Staff: Shortly after moving in, the resident may have a meeting with their assigned counselor or case manager to set goals and create a plan for their time at the facility.
- Participation in Activities: The resident will begin participating in house meetings, group therapy sessions, and other activities designed to support their recovery.

Continuous Monitoring and Support
Regular Check-Ins: Residents are typically required to attend regular check-ins with staff to monitor progress and address any concerns.Random Drug Testing: The facility may conduct random drug tests to ensure continued sobriety.
